Much has been said of using Alta Vista Babel Fish for translation. This time I tried using SYSTRAN to translate Pierre-Lionel's letter of recent and was quite pleased with the results which I print here:

It would be certainly extremely expensive to call upon a licensed firm of translation, whose costs seem really prohibitory for a voluntary and non-profit-making company like ours. A first estimate, at the large adventure, would fix the price of them at approximately 60,000$, without counting the expenses of edition and publication of the book. And it would be necessary to count over one year of work. It is true that Internet offers the quite beautiful ones and great opportunities and possibilities for somebody who can extract the maximum from it, which is certainly not my case.
