Translation of Pierre-Lionel's letter

Much has been said of using Alta Vista Babel Fish for translation. This time I tried using SYSTRAN to translate Pierre-Lionel's letter of recent and was quite pleased with the results which I print here:

"I took note and studied extremely attentively the plan which you established to ensure the whole success of the translation of French English of the bearing book on our first ancestor, Robert of the Bank, of Basse-Normandie. He is very with your honor and shows the wisdom of a man as much pragmatic than effective, and I want to tell you all my admiration and my satisfaction for accomplished work. First of all the project must be a collective for it; and I agree completely with your statement: “This effort should Be the work off Al”. Off race. There is no question of letting to you only manage in this company.

"It would be perhaps possible to appeal, as you say, in the Alta Vista Babel Fish Translator, even if it means to correct the translated texts (thus one translates off “the Bank” our name “of the Bank”, and it is easy to correct). But it would be necessary to be given the responsability to nourish the site of the some 450 pages to be translated (if one decides to translate them all, which is extremely desirable but nonessential). It would be certainly extremely expensive to call upon a licensed firm of translation, whose costs seem really prohibitory for a voluntary and non-profit-making company like ours. A first estimate, at the large adventure, would fix the price of them at approximately 60,000$, without counting the expenses of edition and publication of the book. And it would be necessary to count over one year of work. It is true that Internet offers the quite beautiful ones and great opportunities and possibilities for somebody who can extract the maximum from it, which is certainly not my case.

"I believe that you found the best strategy to make a success of to perfection the realization of this great project which always held you very with heart. And you have all necessary qualities to effectively occupy this function of Editor-in-Chief, able to effectively ensure the coordination of the project, and especially his uniformatisation, extremely important if several voluntary is implied in the project, which I wish of all my heart. I am been willing to contribute my share to your project, and you can always count and entirely on my support, in the measurement however of my humble means, in the language of Shakespeare, gets along. I occupy myself at present, alas! , to inventory and classify my files, which are complete, and important I believe, and of which a part only was useful in the writing of my Memories. And I fell on those, also very complete, of the saga of the writing and the edition of the book in 1998. Which work, but also which satisfaction, inexpressible. And I you wish well of it as much, my dear Ron."

This seemed to me to be pretty clear. Claudie
