Translation - Status Report #5 3-18-07
Posted by: Ronald Laberge (ID *****5253) Date: March 19, 2007 at 16:58:10
  of 2211

Progress is slow but steady. I suspect by the end of April all Chapter translations will be complete. Still need volunteers for the peripheral stuff.....index, table of contents, appendices, etc.

Correction - It was John Laberge who had to move out of his house because of shoddy contractor work. But he is fine and hopes to have his translation finished by the end of the month.

'Robert on the Bank' is the translation of Alta Vista Babel Fish from English to French......but after looking at his birth record it was spelled Rober. Not sure that we should anglicize his name. Something to argue about.

I will write to Pierre-Lionel to let him know what's happening as I have not seen him on Genforum and emails to him are returned.

Charlie is returning from Portugal at the end of the month and will finish his second chapter then.

Claudie on vacation but hopes to have her third chapter finished in April

Kimberly decided to hide out in the hospital for a while so will not be done till end of April

I mentioned to one of the lovely young ladies of our group that I will be making a bound printed book for each of us and that the charge would be $286.43 US but that I would send it for free if she gave me a kiss. She said she would rather send the money. Sheeeesh! Then I was asked by one of the guys if they could kiss me instead of paying the $286.43 US. After giving this considerable thought, I have decided that it would be wiser to just send the bound book to each of the translators without charge. Kisses from our female conspirators will, of course, be graciously accepted and, of course, very much appreciated.

If you know anyone who can help out with the translation please do not be bashful.
