Karen, I just looked at the 1851 Canadian Census and John Baptiste is with wife, Adelaide Hebert.

46 Jean Baptiste Laberge Male 69 abt 1783 Canada
47 Adelaide Hébert Female 58 abt 1794 Canada
48 Phebé Laberge Female 17 abt 1835 Canada
49 Salome Laberge 15 abt 1837 Canada
50 Eustache Laberge Male 12 abt 1840

I'm sure curious about the Patenaude, though.
