Langenberger Family Genealogy Forum

I last posted to this site in 2001-02. I have a little more info since then. Charlotte (my paternal grandmother) had four sisters, Fredricka (Aunt Ricka), Emily (Aunt Em), Christina (Aunt Tean), and another sister, possibly named Lillian. The last name was apparently spelled Langenbucher, and Charlotte's father, Melchior Langenbucher, is buried in the family plot in Aurora, Illinois under the Langenbucher name. The daughters apparently chose somewhere along the line to use the name Langenberger. I do not know why. Their mother's name was Christina Huber and she died around 1875-76, leaving my grandmother Charlotte motherless at around the age of 4. If anyone can shed more light on this family I would appreciate hearing from you. Both Melchior and Christina, my grandmother's parents were born in Germany. I do not know where. They were married in Illinois (Kane County) on November 2, 1861. Would like to find out where they were born, if possible, and anything pertinent to their story.
