Remember..this long and useful article was donated by a researcher like you and me..and I make some mistakes..You are right to try to verify every fact. If I had to guess..I would guess that Joel Lay submitted this material..he was an excellent researcher...but did not list sources..as many genealogists didn't, before computers.
We need need some well researched articles [with sources where possible,] for the "Lay of the Land",,the LFGA Newsletter. let me know if you are willing to publish ...and share you research. It is a good way to preserve what you have, get credit for it, and contact others who may be researching this importantline. Include any oral history..[identified as oral history,] and any ancestral photos you have..for they need to be preserved for future generations. The courthouse records are all on film, and will still be with us in 100 years..but not the stories or photos, unless we preserve them.
