I have some Leavell information but not sure if it connects to Ezekial Leavel, my ancestors are Edward Leavell and wife Mary, they had son Benjamin Leavell, Sr. b. abt 1745 Spotsylvania Co. VA, he married Mildred Hayden, daughter of Thomas Hayden. Benjamin and Mildred died Jul 1818, she died soon after in Christian Co. KY. There is an family rumor (possibly fact & not proved) that James Leavell who married an Cherokee maiden girl who was later baptized and took an English name Mary. James could be father of Edward but uncertain. Indian girl named Mary, wife of James is thought to be decendant of Pocahantas. I only have 4 children for Benjamin Leavell and Mildred Hayden/Haydon: 1. Mildred, wife of Mr. Stewart; 2. Mary, wife of William Simms/Sims; Edward W. Leavell (went to Todd Co. KY); & Benjamin Jr. who married Elizabeth Willis who went to Christian Co. KY. I am decended from William Sims/Simms and Mary Leavell. Will correspond with Leavell researchers who connect to Virginia and Kentucky.
