Leo-Paul Leger MICHEL LEGER ANGELINE PINET Michel, alias "Richelieu", (Jean2, François1), son of Jean Léger and Marguerite Marchand, was born on March 29, 1729 at Port-Royal. In 1761 at Ristigouche, Gaspé, P.Q., he married Angélique (Angéline) PINET, baptized September 21, 1739 in ........, daughter of Charles Pinet and Marie Marchand, from Grand-Pré. He was at Miquelon, of St-Pierre and Miquelon in 1765 and 1767. He died at La Rochelle near 1770. His widow and two of her sons, Louis and Jean-Baptiste, went to Louisiana on the French ship:"Le Bon Papa", established in Louisiana in 1785. Angéline married a second time, to Michel Blanchette on the 30 April 1787. CHILDREN 1- MICHEL PROSPERE Léger, born on ........... 1762 at Louisburg, N.S., married on June 19, 1787 at Opelousas, Louisiana, Marguerite-Louise BOUTIN, born on ........... at .......... , daughter of Paul Boutin and Ursule Guidry. His parents seeked refuge at Ile Royale (Cape Breton, N.S.), where they were made prisoners by the English. Children: Alexander(1792); Julien(07-09-1794); Augustin(1796); Michel(1798); ` Célestine(1799); Henry(1801); Apollonie(1803); Placide(1805). 2- LOUIS Léger, born about 1765 in Miquelon, P.Q., married, on January 17, 1792 at Opelousas, Anne DOUCET, born on ............. at ...... , daughter of Joseph Doucet and Anne Landry. Children: Louis(1792); Jean-Narcisse(1794); Eloïse(1796); Michel(1798); Joseph(1800); Hilaire(1801); Mélanie(1803); Eloise(1807); Joséphine(1810). 3- JEANNE Léger, born about 1767 in Miquelon.
