Thurs., Sept. 20, 1906 - Reedsburg Free Press, Reedsburg, Sauk County, WI; Page 1: Sarah M. Pease was born in Wales, Erie Co., N. Y., March 20, 1825. Being reared in a christian home she, early in her life became a christian and united with the M. E. church where she was a faithful worker until her health failed. She was united in marriage to Charles Leigh (now deceased) on September 17th 1843. To them were born five children, Frank and Eugene of S. Dak., John and Mary (Mrs. Shaffer) of Dellona, and Amelia who died in early childhood. In 1854 they moved to the new state of Wisconsin where, with many other brave pioneers, they set to work making their new home with an interest and zeal that characterized the early settlers. Mrs. Leigh was an affectionate mother, a faithful friend and a kind neighbor; beloved by all who knew her. Although she suffered many physical afflictions, being blind for the last six years she, by her patient endurance has taught us many lessons of gratitude and patience. She died of paralysis and a complication of diseases on Aug. 10, 1906, at home of her son, John Leigh in Dellona, Wis. Notify Administrator about this message?
