Stewart was changed to the spelling Stuart but we dont know when.He was born in Peoria Illinois,16 June 1893 were he lived and farmed most of his life.He died on 06 Sept 1937 and was buried at Mt.Hawley cemetrey were the rest of my Grand Parents are.Stuarts Mother was Dorothy Jane Becker.However Stuart was living with his Grandmother Eva M.Sipp,Becker around 1900 on Broadway street in Peoria.We know alot about Stuart.He was married to Florence V Williams.They farmed the Alta Illinois area all there lives.We did not know for a long time that Stuarts fathers name was Charles Leighton.Until one of my cousins told me what he had heard and Stuart Obit was Located that stated Charles Leighton was his father.Stuart mother Dorothy remarried a man named John Wells Flanegan.They had a daughter.(Eva A Flanegan)wich was Stuarts half sister.After seeing cencus record and talking to long lost cousins I now Know that Dorothy and Charles Leighton were Divorced.Here is the problem.It has never been proven that the Charles Leighton that Dorothy J. Becker married was Charles P Leighton son of Silas and Hariett of Groveland We have done proccess of Elimination on all the Charles Leightons in Illinois that would have been the right age and all the Clues lead back to Charles P leighton b.1866 son of Silas and Hariett.I just cant find that missing link between Stuart and that Leighton family.
