I'm a Lent originally from Akron, Ohio, descended from poor and apparently undistinguished Lents who lived around Lower Salem, Ohio, near Marietta. I know my heritage back to my Lent great-grandfather, but neither I nor any other living member of my family has any clue who preceded him. Can anyone out there help me? Marietta was the first white settlement in Ohio, and I like to imagine that some of the illustrious New York Lents of the 1600s eventually settled there as pioneers. Here are my people: My great-grandfather Charles Lent (d. 1944 or 1945) was the second husband of a woman born Ella Love. (I believe her first husband was an Anderson.) They lived in Lower Salem, Ohio. Their son Otis Teddy Lent (1907-1994) married Isabel Rebecca Lowery (1910-) in Akron in 1930. These are my grandparents. I have posted this message at the Lent Family Research Project also.
