I think we are relatives.
My Grandfather was Moise Dreyfus; he came from Mertzwiller in Alsace Lorraine. He founded Inland Steel with the Block family who also came from Mertzwiller.

I located the family through Gen-Ami in France. They were able to show me that in 1760's(?), Jews were required to take "names" under Napoleon. Ath the time there were 5 children born .. I come from one of them and I found my 1st cousin 7 times removed in Colmar, where he is the Head Rabbi of the Bas Rhine. There are still 3 more siblings from that group of 5. I believe that you might be one of them.
