I hope this is of help to you, Walter!

Abigail L'Hommedieu was born 14 Apr 1791 (1) and died 23 Oct 1823 (2). She married Aden (Adin) Post as his second wife about 1 Apr 1816 in Westbrook, CT (1,3).

Abigail was the 3rd child and second daughter of William and Mercy (Carter) L'Hommedieu

William was born 18 Jun 1763 (1,4) (probably in Southold, Suffolk County, NY) and died 20 Nov 1841 (1,4) (probably in the Saybrook/Westbrook area, CT). He married Mercy Carter (1) about 1786-7. I have no information about Mercy Carter.

William was the first-born of Henry and Jemima (Spencer) L'Hommedieu.

Henry was born 1741 in Southold, Suffolk County, NY (1) and died 8 Jun 1791 in the Horse Hill District, Westbrook, Middlesex County, Connecticut (1). Henry married Jemima Spencer 8 Sep 1762 (5). Jemima was the daughter of Caleb and Hannah (Hudson) Spencer. She was born 3 Aug 1734 (6) and died 26 May 1807 (1).

Henry was the second child and second son of John and Mary (Hudson) L'Hommedieu.

John was born 11 Jan 1707 in Southold, Suffolk County, NY, (1) where he died on 25 Jan 1777 (1). John married Mary Hudson (7) on 22 Feb 1726/7 (1). Mary was the daughter of Jonathan and Sarah (Wickham) Hudson (1).

John was the eighth child and fifth son of Benjamin (the emigrant) and Patience (Sylvester) L'Hommedieu. Benjamin was born 1657 in La Rochelle, France (1) and died 4 Jan 1748/9 in Southold, Suffolk County, NY (1). Benjamin married Patience Sylvester in 1694 (1). Patience was the daughter of Nathaniel and Grissel Brinley (1). She was born 1 Nov 1664 (1) and died 2 Nov 1719 (1).
