From the Centennial History of Van Meter, Iowa comes this tale of murder involving an unnamed Littlepage.
On June 30, 1908, Elmer and Maude Jamison were both shot dead by their son-in-law whose surname was Littlepage. Littlepage's arguments with his wife, Verona, and her parents resulted in the wife suing for divorce after they had a baby. On one occasion Littlepage's attempts to see his son were refused by the grandparents. He left, only to return, shooting them both to death. Littlepage took his own life while pursued by a posse. His body was found on the roadside three miles west of Valley Junction (West Des Moines) by John Ritchie, a farmer.
The Jamisons were my relatives. The poor baby's name was Dewain Elmer Littlepage born July 1907. Does anyone know more about this?
