I copied the following information from the files of the Montgomery County (MD) Historical Society. Some of the information in the file was from the papers of Harry Wright Newman, dated 1973 in Annapolis. On a sheet signed by him is the information that John (apparently the one who married Rebecca Wright) was a grandson of Capt. John Lowe and Prudence Stephenson. Capt. Lowe died in 1657 and left something to his grandson.

Another sheet states Major John Lowe md. Rebecca Wright; he was born before 1657 in Derbyshire; came to MD before 1689; died in St. Mary's Co. in 1701. He was the son of Francis and Elizabeth Owtram Lowe. Francis was the son & heir of Oldgraves, b. 1613, d. 1683. Francis had a sister Prudence who married Henry Lowe of the Park Hall, Derbyshire Lowes. A note states his descendants settled in Maryland.) Elizabeth was the daughter of Robert Owtram of Derbyshire.

Francis was the son of Capt. John and Prudence Stephenson Lowe. States he was a Loyalist from Derbyshire; d. 1657. Prudence was the daughter of Edmund Stephenson of Gunston (?).

Capt. John was the son of Anthony and Mary Ferne Lowe. Andrew of Alderwasley, died 1601. Mary was the duaghter of Rowland Ferne of Derbyshire.

Anthony was the son of Edward and Lucy Cell Lowe. Lucy was his second wife and was a daughter of Ralph Cell of Derbyshire.

Edward was the son of Anthony and Bridget Fogge Lowe. The note states Edward "of the Court of Henry VIII" and he died in 1555. Bridget was the daughter of Sir Fogge of Regton/Reyton.

Anthony was the son of Thomas and Joan Fawne Lowe. A note states he was a "brother to Lawrence Lowe whose descendants settled in Maryland." Thomas settled on his wife's lands in Derbyshire and died in 1531. Joan was the daughter of Thomas Fawne who was the son of John Fawne of Alderwasley, Derbyshire.

Thomas was the son of Geoffrey and Margaret Legh Lowe. Geoffrey died in Cheshire in 1451; Margaret died in 1454.

Geoffrey was the son of Thomas de Lowe of Cheshire, who died in 1415/6. (no wife listed)

I have recently started researching these people, who are ancestors of a friend. Therefore, I do not have anything further, and cannot state that this information is correct. Also, as I said, a source was not cited.
