Isabelle McQuone is my maternal great-great grandmother.
From the Kersey paper, Friday September 4th 1925, I have this obit:(all spelling is exactly as written in obit)
Death Of Aged Lady
Mrs. Isabel McQuone, widow of Bernard McQuone, of Earleyville, near Kersey, died Monday morning at her home from infirmities of age. She was aged 88 years. The following children survive: Mrs. Daniel P. Kirk and Torrence K. McQuone of Johnsonburg; Mrs. J. Kadden (Cadden)of Kane; Matthew and James McQuone, Brockway, and Graham McQuone at home. Mr. and Mrs. P.D. Kirk and family, Mr. and Mrs. T.K. McQuone and daughter Marie, and William Kirk attended the funeral which was held Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock in St. Boniface church, Kersey. Burial was at Kersey cemetery. Mrs. McQuone was a pioneer settler of that vicinity and had resided there 81 years.
This obituary is from the Brockway Record--
"Mrs. Isabelle Jane McQuone of Kersey, Pa., died at her home Monday, August 31, 1925.
Mrs. McQuone was one of the oldest residents of this section, he having lived in Kersey, Pa., more than 70 years.
Isabelle Jane Lowe was the daughter of Edward and Catherine Lowe and was born in Quebec, Canada, in 1837. She was united in marriage with Barney McQuone, of Ireland, at Kersey, in October, 1853, and her home has been in Kersey to the time of her death. To this union eleven children were born, six of whom survive her, viz. James and Matt H. of Brockway; John, at Kersey; Terrance, of Johnsonburg; Mrs. J. A. Cadden, of Kane; and Mrs. D. P. Kirk, of Johnsonburg.
The funeral was held Wednesday, September 2, with services in the Roman Catholic Church at Kersey. Rev. Father Tipp conducting the services and interment made in the Catholic cemetery at Kersey."
