Looking thru my Loe/Lowe/Low line....

Looking at the areas could this possibly be one of the Low's that you mentioned? In same areas. Spelled name LOW.

I'm not familiar with Samuel b. 1799 NY----I do know that I first start with

William D. Low (Lowe) s/o George Kautz Low & Ann Elizabeth Powell
b. 1848 Ohio
d. Unk
bur. Oak Hill Cemetery, Galena, Cherokee County, Kansas (Believed to be buried in unmarked Grave A, Lot 12, Block 40 of OakHill Cemetary, Galena, Kansas)
m. 21 Jan 1878 Edgar County, Illinois to
America Anglina Coffman
b. 1854 Paris, Edgar County, Illinois
d. 8 Aug 1921 Kansas
bur. Oak Hill Cemetery, Galena, Cherokee County, Kansas

NOTES: They are the family that established Dayton Ohio.
Here is a couple of the family stories. William D. Lowe was a blacksmith who supposedly invented the self coupling rail car. Before that time there was a pin that had to be manually placed in the coupling between the cars. Of course there is no credit given for his work.
America Coffman Lowe was thought to be Native American. I can find no record of that yet and I suspect she may have been half breed.

George Kautz Low NOTES: In Theodosia's obituary George is said to live in Louisville, Kentucky.

George was a Millwright by trade.

George Kautz Low s/o Dayton Low Nancy B. (Trenchard)

Dayton Low NOTES: I need to check Butler County, Ohio. May be buried in Fairton, Ohio.

In 1820 census, lived in Hamilton County, Ohio. Later years lived in Butler County Ohio.

In Theodocia's Obituary Dayton is referred to as Captain Dayton Low of Salem New Jersey

Moved to Hamilton Ohio in 1818.
Dayton Low s/o Peter Low & Mary Dayton

Peter Low NOTES: Peter Low was a sailor on a Dutchman ship that sank off the coast of Marth's Vineyard in the 1780's

Would be great if this is the link.....
Talk to you soon
