HI Charles, I think we have a connection through the following person: vi. JAMES LEWMAN, b. Abt. 1806, Allegany Co., Maryland son of Rezin and Sarah Lewman, from the notes you made on Cornelius C. Luman, b. KY 1837. You indicate the will of Rezin mentions wife Sarah, and nine children. Can you send me the details on that family -- especially James LEWMAN. I believe that this James Lewman is the same James Luman I have been seeking to connect. There are several facts in common between the files you have and recent files I have looked over: 1. US Census, 1840. Wood County, Virginia 1840 indicates James Luman, wife, daughter (0-5) matching family profile at that time, 2. Biography of Abner Luman, and John Luman, sons of James Luman, indicating that James Luman was born in Maryland, and moved to Virginia as a young boy. (Progressive Men of Wyoming ... publication details available), 3. Contact with 4th cousin on Luman side indicating that another son of Abner Luman, Richard, was named Richard Barthamew Luman -- indicating a family name in common with your Barton (Bartholomew Lewman). further from your notes "1812, Barton was in Ohio Co, Virginia (WV) I found the census record: 4. US Census, 1810. Elizabeth, Ohio County, Virginia, indicates Barton LOOMAN family with wife, 2 sons (0-5) 2 sons (5-10), and daughters (1 at 0-5) (1 at 10-15) Thanks in advance for your time and trouble. Liz.
