Hi Pat,

Jane Edwards' parents were Richard Edwards and Elizabeth Watts.

Jane actually had 5 brothers: Henry, Richard, John Henry, Thomas Stephen (William) and Harry Walter. I am descended from Richard.

She also had 7 sisters. One died in England at 9 months. The other 6 all came to Canada where they all married and all raised families. The sisters' names are Elizabeth, Sarah Ann, Anna (Maria), Ann, Mary Ann and Violetta.

The Richard Edwards family came to Canada in the early 1820s and settled initially in the Long Point Settlement where the children all found their spouses. Accordingly they are considered one of the Long Point pioneer families and are included in Robert Mutrie's collection of genealogies which he markets through the Norfolk Genealogy website. I think you would benefit from a copy. He also has one for the Gustin family which also seems to interest you.

I believe elsewhere that you claim to be a descendant of Richard Edwards and Elizabeth Watts. In that case we would be distantly related since they are my 4th great grandparents.

Jane Edwards was the wife of Isaiah Gustin. So that is how she fits into the Gustin family. Her sister Sarah Ann married Eliphalet Gustin. And their brother Henry married Isaiah's sister Salome Gustin. So the Edwards and Gustin families are closely intermarried. This is all well explained and documented in Robert Mutrie's genealogies.

I hope this has been helpful.
