Mr. Chapman,
I don't know the origin of the name Maben, but, I live in Maben, Mississippi, Oktibbeha County, 18 miles west of starkville, home of Mississippi State University.
Our town is a small town, and was named for a lady by the name of maben.
Have you ever heard of Maben, Mississippi?
