The following article (listing historical markers in Upshur County, Texas) appeared in the 6/16/2008 issue of the Longview News-Journal newspaper:
PRITCHETT NORMAL INSTITUTE (Texas (highway)155 and FM (farm-to-market road)1404 in Pritchett)
Albert, R. W. and J.P. Maberry started Pritchett Normal Institute as preparatory institute in 1909. The school trained teachers and offered public school classes. Students attended from as far away as the Texas Panhandle. A building was added in 1908. The plant was sold in 1915 to the public school system.
