Looking for ancestors /most from Henry Co VA, some NC. Any info on Edward (also seen as Edmund) Lafayette Mabes, Sr. born abt 1798-1809 Stokes Co NC, wife Lucinda Roach. I have seen father to Edward Lafayette Sr. listed as Reuben Mabes, mother Rhoda
and also seen his father listed as William Mabes born 1796, spouse unknown.
Edward Lafayette Mabes Sr. was my great great grandfather. His children were Edward Lafayette , Jr. b:1834 in Henry Co VA, Lucinda Grace "Millie, b:1840, John b:1844, Caroline b:1846 Henry Co, and Mary. Trying to trace back from him and records get fuzzy and contradictory before him. If anyone has info please email. My grandfather Reed Oliver Mabes b:1870 Riner, Montgomery CO VA was son of Edward Lafayette Jr. and Zeriah Barker. My father was Marvin Lee Mabes from Roanoke VA area. Thanks for any help.
