Yes, I have seen your boo and. as you know, none were full-fledged, "legal" Confederate generals.

Some were state militia generals (Alcorn, M.Jeff Thompson et al). Some were nominated (perhaps) as Conf. generals but never confirmed by the Conf. congress., (Warner made an exception of the 8-10 appointed by E. Kirby Smith when they were cut off from Richmond).

One might argue with Warner on a few but, generally, he did a fine job of weeding out the "illegals".

You did a good job of supplementing his work with the "quasi-generals{" of which Hinchie was one.

I've been a CW "buff" for sixty years from age twelve - slightly before Bruce Catton !!
