Scots-Irish
Posted by: Walter MacArthur Date: October 13, 2001 at 12:19:05

I was told by my father that our family is Scots-Irish. For whatever reason I assumed that was because a large percentage of Scots (Celts in particular) came originally from Ireland. I read someting not long ago that suggested that Scots-Irish are Scots that "stopped over" in Ireland before travelling on to America (or wherever). Does anyone have any info on this? Is there any differentiation between Scots and Scots-Irish?

Thaks,
Walter MacArthur
