Sandra, thanks for your response. Mary MacArthur Moffat was probably not related to me. The Mary Macarthur that I referred to in my post was married to Richard Fraser in Lesmehagow, Scotland, Aug 12, 1885 and died in 1928 Victoria, Australia. It was my Mary MacArthur's aunt who came to Canada around 1860 1870. While I do have a picture of my ggrandmother I don't think that this would help you in any way.

Do you have any information on Isabella MacArthur Firth's parents? It may be that my ggrandmother's aunt and her husband came to Glenelg with other family members. I do know that in addition to my ancestor she had other brothers - could one of these brothers also emigrated from Scotland and was father to Isabella?

In a history of North Glenelg Baptist Church of 1876, is a list of early church members one of whom is Sam McArthur along with Catherine (McArthur) McInnes (aunt of my ggrandmother). Catherine and her husband Angus resided on the 3rd concession of Glenelg Twp.

Linda
