Hi James,
I guess we are in the same generation then- My question is fairly broad- As you can imagine, my grandparents (John B Macauley jr and Julia Cutler Macauley) spent a good portion of there lives in the detroit area. I have a piece of silver with the inscription "from the Michigan macauleys to the Massachusetts Macauleys". Any idea who the Michigan macauleys consisted of? The Alvan book published by Packard doesn't provide information beyond who his children were and what they did, which is odd since although the book is about him, it spends more time providing details about other parts of the family "tree". You probably have a copy of this- but if you don't you can find it here: http://www.packardsinternational.com/pdf/ahalloff.pdf.
