Donald MacKay and Hannah Jane Dillon of Cow Bay, Cape Breton

I am looking for any information on my gg grandparents who lived in and around Cow Bay (Port Morien), on Cape Breton island in Nova Scotia. Donald, also referenced in a few of the Census records as Daniel or Danny, was born in 1832 at East Lake Ainslie in Inverness county, NS. (as listed on census records) He was listed as a teacher, a miner, a farmer and store keeper in various census's and Married Hannah Jane Dillon in Sydney.

Hannah was born in Catalone in 1836 and her parents were Capt. Joseph Dillon and Loiusa Murrant. The couple had six children Joseph (my g grandfather), Rose, Arthur, Charles, William and Fredrick.

We've located a death certificate for Donald dated May 31st, 1912 in Glace Bay, NS where he lived his final years with his Daughter Rose and her husband John McRitchie.

If any has any information on any of these family members, it of course would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Dan MacKay
Boise, Idaho
