Hello,
We are trying to trace the descendants of :
John Mackay, born at croft 3 Kershader, Isle of Lewis Scotland in 1877,son of Murdo Mackay and Mary Macleod. John was a bard and composed a number of songs and poems in Gaelic and English extolling his native island, of which Eilean Leodhais ged rinn m d'fhagail and Lewis are examples. He married Alexandra (Alexina, Lexie) Smith, born croft 16 Balallan 17 July 1884, dau. of John Smith from Eishken and 16 Balallan and Ann Maciver of 12 Laxay . They emigrated in 1907 to Prince Albert,Saskatchewan, Canada . He died there in 1962.
