I am tracing back my family tree and have gotten as far as this:
Andrew Mackey
Born 1822 in Kilkenny, Ireland
Married Oct 3, 1859 in St. Bernards, Watertown, WI
Died Dec 1867
Married to Johanna Newman
Born 1831 in Ireland
Died Dec 16, 1884
Son Thomas Francis McKay
Born Jan 6, 1867
The census here http://www.familysearch.org/eng/search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=/eng/search/ancestorsearchresults.asp shows their family name as MCKEY and then at some point Thomas' last name was changed to MCKAY.
Any insights most welcome!
