Jehu Staton of NC died in Barren Co., KY ca. 1814. His will names his wife: Mahala. Since it is a will, I presume it is a first or given name. A daughter, Catherine Staton in listed in the 1850 census as born 1790 in NC so Jehu was probably married in NC. Does this ring any bells with Mahala researchers?
