Does anyone have any information aboaut Markey's from Virginia, particularly the Shenandoah Valley (Page, Rockingham and shenandoah counties). My g-g-g-grandfather was Johannes Markey..the name subsequently became Merica..he apparently had had several half-brothers: Christopher, Conrad, and John. Johannes had several children, some of which took the name Merica and apparently some took the name Markey. Johannes Markey's children were" John b. 1798
George - b. 1799
William - b. 1804
Daniel - b. 1907 (Merica)
David - b. 1815 (Merica)
Solomon - b. 1820
Harriet - b. 1721
Elis - b. 1822
