Wm. E. Markey was son of George Wm. Markey, and was born 1884 in Alton, Il. He was a song writer. He served in World War 1, and was always in the news. He found a large pearl in an oyster. That created a myth that he was rich. He died penniless. His songs were never big hits, except one. But he had sold it and that person claimed it as his own. He never had children, but was married.I would like more info on him, and his family. My grandmother Jennie Mae was his sister. She was born in 1890.ddddd
