McAndrew Family in New York
Posted by: Grace McAndrew Whitnah Date: March 16, 2000 at 13:49:52

Since I last entered a message I have uncovered some more information on family in New York State. My great grandfather was born in Clyde, Wayne Co. NY around 1852. He was the 3rd of 4 known children. His mother's name was Nancy. According to the US census of 1860 these McAndrews were residing in Clyde at the time. The father is not mentioned so I don't know whether he was dead or whether he was working out of the area. However those mentioned on the census were: Nancy- 40yrs. born in Ireland, Hugh - 15yrs. born in Ireland, Richard- 10yrs. born in NY, Michael- 8yrs. born in NY, and "Tady" 4yrs. born in NY. I have been unable to find the rest of the McAndrew family except for my great grandfather. I recently found that my grandfather's younger brother "Tady" died in Durhamville NY in 1938. I believe his full name was Timothy and that he went by Ted. If anyone could be of help in this I would greatly appreciate it. Durhamville NY is just outside of Onieda in the county of Oneida. Thanks.
