I'm searching for information concerning Mary McAuley, born in 1802 in Washington Co, NY. She was the daughter of Peter McAuley and Janet Dawson McAuley. Mary had a brother named John McAuley who married Mary "Polly" Van Tassel. My second great grandfather, William Loomis, was a close friend of John. William married Elvira Van Tassel, Polly's sister. They all migrated to Hancock Co, IL in the 1830's. I believe, however, that William was married prior to Elvira. He appears to have had a daughter named Mary M. Loomis who was born in about 1823. I wonder if Mary McAuley might have been married to William Loomis. Does anyone have information concerning Mary McAuley? Whom did she marry? Where did she live? When and where did she die? I would certainly appreciate any information about her to prove or disprove my theory. Thank you so much.
