The Ardencaple Chiefship issue

Please see http://www.fergusscottishfestival.com/clans/clan-macaulay.htm

I would like to make the following remarks:

1. Diarmid is not of Ardencaple.
2. He is not Chief of the Ardencaple Macaulays. 3. The Macaulays of Glenarm were not of Lewis; they were of Dumbartonshire.
4. The founder of the Order of Mercy was not styled "Lady." In fact, she requested to be buried in a pauper's grave. It would probably be more accurate to style her as "Sister."

If the Macaulay Clan Association wants to lay claim to the Chiefship of the MacLeods of Lewis or to the Chiefship of the MacKenzies of Lochbroom then I have no objections as I am sure that the MacLeods and MacKenzies, themselves, would take issue. However, I do strongly object to the misleading information that is being put forth regarding the Macaulay of Ardencaple Chiefship issue.
