Here are some details I have on my Ruxton connection:

St Mary's Pro Cathedral Dublin

Jane of John & Rose (nee Costelloe) baptised 30.08.1850
Mary of John & Rose (nee Costelloe) baptised 23.04.1847
Rosannah of John & Rose (nee Costelloe) born 11.12.1853 baptised 13.02.1854
Sarah Jane of William & Mary (nee Molloy) born 04.02.1872 baptised 05.02.1872

John Ruxton died 11.04.1877 aged 63
Rose Ruxton died 06.06.1878 aged 60 at time living 42 Jervis Street Dublin

Eddie Ruxton who worked at the Bus Station early 1900's (1912??)

1911 census of 10 Nelson Street Dublin

Head of Household Jane Ruxton Roman Catholic Cook Single aged 60 born Dublin
Sister Rose Ruston Roman Catholic single aged 54 born Dublin
Nephew Alfred Ruxton Roman Catholic single Clerk aged 35 born Dublin
Servant Kathleen Fleming Roman Catholic single

Sara Ruxton (mothers name MCAULEY)married William Ormsby Weir. Sara a Catholic, William a Protestant (exactly what denomination I don't know)

Sara died 05.05.1909 aged 64
William died 04.03.1910 aged 72

They had one child John who married Sarah (Sally) Ruxton
Sarah (Sally) died 15.10.1952 aged 67
John disappeared 1920approx. One story has it that he left to join the army in Scotland, failed a medical, took to drink, died in the street and was buried in a paupers grave.
The more accepted story is that he actually left his family for another woman.

During their marriage they lived in Belfast, Dublin and Scotland.
Following John's disappearance Sarah (Sally) lived for a while in Horsemans Row, 48 Parnell Street.

All the above I found in old family letters and photographs, so I know they did exist and that they are related to me, albeit through marriage. But I don't know anything about them nor can I find any present day connections.

Can you help??

Please get in touch
