In researching my family I came across Margaret McCahill, daughter of William McCahill and Margaret (Michan) McCahill. Margaret was born in Ireland in approximately 1799. She married John Friel in Ireland sometime before 1830. Together they had at least five children, born in Inver, Donegal. The family moved to Scotland sometime before 1851, as they appear in the census of that year as residing in Kirkintilloch, Lanark. Residing with them was a James McCahill, age 50, born Ireland, and a younger McCahill male, age 12, also born in Ireland. Please contact me if any of this sounds familiar. Thanks.
