Hi. I have had some trouble with a McCahill as well. I have a Sarah McCahill who was from Donegal. She married a Bernard Carr from the Kilcar area and they had at least two sons - Patrick (my gr grand father) and Cornelius. Patrick was born in 1877, emigrated and settled in Bayonne NJ aroud 1901 and died in 1950. Cornelius made it to Staten Island. Not much more is know about them. It appears that there was a Sarah McCahill near Inver, but I not been able to confirm that. Also, Inver is very close to Kilcar, so I am thinking this could be a match. Do you have a Sarah in your records?

Tim Carr
