McClanahans from VA
Posted by: Sandy Yglesias (ID *****8756) Date: August 15, 2009 at 21:22:10

I am searching for any info on my McClanahans. The only info I have was recently given to me by my great aunt (who I recently found)...she is now 95 years old and her memory is fading so some of this info may be incorrect.

My great grandmother was Nannie Strater McClanahan 1876 - 1948. I would love to know where her middle name came from, sounds more like a last name. She was born and raised in VA but I don't know where she is buried.

Her parents were David S McClanahan and Fannie A Pace. I have a 1900 census with them on it, at the time they were living in Pearisburg, Giles Co, Va.

I have no other info except that. And my great aunt said that her grandmother's name was Enge, but that's all she remembers. She doesn't remember which grandmother.

ANY info would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Sandy
