Hi Gena, I have Henry Linden in my family tree, we are distant cousins. John Reid McClanahan was a somewhat famous editor during the civil war. I have included a website for his biography that includes the history of the McClanahan family after they came to the United States from Ulster, Ireland. Go to Google search and enter John Reid McClanahan, go to third item listed: The Moving Appeal: Mr. McClanahan, Mrs. Dill and the Civil War. by B.G. Ellis. The website is: books.google com/books?isbn=0865547645... Hope this helps. My e-mail is sjam53@yahoo.com . I have quite a bit information on the family in Desoto parish, La. and also Freestone co., Tx. My family tree is listed on ans.com under sjam and is open to veiw under the "Carroll" family. Please let me know how this works out for you. Cousin James
