Scott, I am a niece of Maud's son Ralph Snell. Ralph's wife was my father's sister. Two of her daughters are still living. One is in Arkansas and the other in Nebraska. I talk to the one in Arkansas all the time. Helen has told me what she can remember about her mother. Her father's name was John McKay (pos. b. in Canada) Maud's mother died when she was an infant and she was raised by a childless couple in Iowa. Their names were Leonard and Sarah Study (stew-dy). Maud m. Silas W. Snell and they had the following children. Melvin L., Ralph A., Carl C., Helen V., and Vernice. After her mother's death the family moved to IA from NE. One of her older sisters carried her across the Missouri River. John was unable to care for an infant and that is why he gave her to the Study's. Maud and Silas divorced and she married Frank Terrel and they were living in Texas in part of the 1950's I don't know where else they may have lived. You can find Maud and Silas in the 1920 Fremont Co. IA census with all the children but Vernice. She is with them in the 1930 census. She was born in 1893 in NE. How are you related? Please contact me I have more info on the Snell line. Aldean Foster
