FYI. "Rev. Samuel Martin McKay was a lay Methodist preacher and traveled by buggy with a big red horse. Land for Providence Church and Cemetery was given by Hugh and son Samuel McKay. Birthplace in question? Anderson Co., SC.; Chambers Co., Ala; Creek Lands, Clay Co., Al.
1870 census Marion Alexande age 18, ........and last, Levi Thorton age 3, who was my grandfather, who married adopted Eldorado Clark (papoose found on battlefield).
Shows Samuel Martin died in Delta Clay County Ala, Providence Cemetery, Lineville, Al. 7/11/1891.

I need to go farther back to immigrants...got anything?

Thanks.

Ruth McKay
