William McKAY/Mary Ann PARLAND, GA

The Georgia Ports Authority is seeking descendants of John PARLAND and Mary Ann SCARLETT. John PARLAND and Mary Ann lived in Glynn County, GA in the 1830's. It is believed that their daughter married a William MCKAY, May 17, 1838. John's grave has been located on Colonel's Island and needs to be relocated due to development in the area. John died in 1838 after falling from a horse. He owned several Sea Island Plantations, including two on Blythe Island and Colonel's Island. The GPA must make all attempts to locate descendants before relocating the remains.
