I too am related to the Mckim family thru my mother Helen Louise Topper of McSherrystown Pa. My Uncle Harry was the geanealogist of the family he has since passed away. But I'd be glad to share what I know. We were Knighted it is listed in The Leading Colonial Families of America. We had two McKims at Valley Forge. What I do know is that we were originally from Scotland. Inverness Co. A Greagory McKim saved a Frazier in 1534 and Mckims were adopted into the Frazier Clan. I have a newsaper article which my uncle sent me that has lots of info about the McKims arrivng in Baltimore. We were founders of the B&O Railroad. We set the standards for clipper ships as thay were ship builders also and the Anna McKim was the model for the American Clippers which dominated the Calf.and China tradein mid-century. During the War of 1812 John and Isaac lent the US government $200,000. For the was effort and they each contributed 50,000 more to defend the City of Baltmore. We have a illustious family. Be glad to share any thing I can. Thanx, Rita Hastings reet@zoominternet.net
