Thanks for the additional info because I was able to look at that 1910 Census you mentioned and according to it Florence would have been born about 1878 in Georgia. Based on that info that would have ment that she would have been twelve when you said she gave birth to her first child...probably not correct. Now I noticed that she also stated that she was the mother of 6 children and she said they were all alive but only one of them the youngest was living with her, Bessie.
I looked on the 1910 in Lamar Co and found a Willie McKinney listed as a stepson with a family named Richardson who was born about 1895 along with a sister named Flora who was born about 1894. The mother listed was first name Hattie. Is it possible that Hattie was a sister to Florence? If so then this is where two of the 6 children were located.
I looked a little more in Lamar Co. and in Paris, I found a Frank (1892) and Henry (1896) listed as nephews living with a Mary Gowdy who also could have been related to Joseph (possibly an older sister) which could account for 2 more of Florence's children. If that panned out then that would bring the count up to 5 of the 6 accounted for and my bets are that #6 is probably married off.
I know from personal knowledge that when McKinneys made moves across the country they usually traveled with relatives and it would only make sense that this would account for the locations of the children in 1910.
Does this make sense to you?
