James Meikle - Torpichen (b 1800) and Lesmahagow (b 1823)

Hi there

I'm looking for information on my Meikle family.

I know James Meikle was born in 1800 in Torpichen, Linlithgowshire in Scotland. He married Margaret Hutchison from Lanarkshire and had a son, James, in 1823 - and he was born in Lesmahagow. This son James married Margaret Brown from Lesmahagow, and together they ran the Black Bull Inn in the town (it still stands - I've visited it, although it was a bit more 'spit and sawdust' than I would have liked)!

James and Margaret had 8 children that I know of in Abbeygreen, Lesmahagow, including my great great gran - Agnes Meikle, who was born in 1860 in the town.

Any further info would be much appreciated and if I can provide any further info I will!
