Somewhere along the line handwriting has caused a problem here. Both Samark & Larnach are meant to be Lanark. In this instance it relates to the COUNTY of Lanark (in other words Lanarkshire), rather than the town of Lanark, which is about 20 miles from where Archibald Meikle & Mary Ann Scott married. They married in the High Church district of the city of Glasgow in 1869. Also their son Archibald wasn't born in Dunedin. He was born in the Springburn district of Glasgow on the 21st June 1874. They also had another son named Archibald who was born on the 4th December 1868, just before their marriage, and who died in 1870.
