http://www.tedpack.org/grandpa.html explains how frustrating it is to try to look for someone based on the phrase "my grandfather", since your grandfather could have been born anywhere from 48 to 200 years ago. You gave his death year as 1965, (+/-) 5, which narrows his birth year down to 1860 - 1940, but that is still not what we would call pin-point precision. The census images I subscribe to have 21 Joseph Michaels born in PA, living all over the country in 1930. None have a wife Rosa, Rosaellen or Rosa Ellen. There are 3 Curvin Michaels in 1930, again without RosaEllens. One was b. 1901 in PA and is in Rockford, Winnebago, Illinois in 1930. http://ssdi.genealogy.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/ssdi.cgi has a Rosaellen Michael d. Oct 1979, LB 92307 (Apple Valley, San Bernardino, CA) http://vitals.rootsweb.com/ca/death/search.cgi has her too, but no MMN. The census images I subscribe to have no Rasellen or Rosa Ellen churchill from 1850 to 1930. She probably used "Rosa" or "Ellen". Without a birthplace or birthdate there are too many to try to winnow them out. A marriage date would help too, since she would be Rosaellen Michael after that. There are no Rosaellen or Rosa Ellen Michaels, either. http://www.lib.rush.edu/archives/SL_grads.html has a Rosaellen Churchill who graduated from a Nursing college in 1924 in Chicago. She was probably 22 at the time, give or take 2 years. Sorry. I spent my lunch hour on your little problem and couldn't help. Notify Administrator about this message?
