I am looking for information concerning Moses Mikels and his wife Ellen (Melton/MORTON) Mikels. THey had several children listed below: The last name is commonly spelled different ways including Mikel, Mikels, Michaels, Michels
Charlotte Elizabeth b. Arkansas
William b. 1860 in Arkansas
James b. 1861 in Arkansas
Hosea b. 1866 in Missouri
Ozias b. 1866 in Missouri
Laura Belle b. 1868 in Missouri
Mary b. 1870 in Missouri
Rebecca b. 1873 in Missouri.
This family lived in Crawford Co., Arkansas as well as Daviess Co., MO. In Daviess Co., Missouri Charlott E Mikels married Jake Sharrah. They later moved to Arkansas where they lived and died. My website has pictures of this family. According to the pictures they look as though they are Indian and that has always been the story but if anyone can help with this I would love to share info. Moses Loren Mikel was the son of David Hugh Mikel and Marguerite Minerva Swiney. They came from North Carolina to Missouri. Possibly Cherokee Indian.
