I am using ancestry.com and I was able to locate the same information. William died at a young age in a mining accident, just as you guessed. That is what family has said. I don't have any proof (newspaper article), nor have I gotten his death certificate. I am trying to locate any information on William's parents. I believe I found him at age 18 living with his Aunt in Elk Creek, Grayson, Virginia in the 1900 Census Records. I believe his Aunt's name was Mary Brown. I know, good luck with that one!! Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
