I am looking for information about Jacob MICHEL/MITCHEL who was born in France (probably Alsace region) about 1801. I have very little early information about him.
Jacob MICHEL/MITCHEL immigrated to the United States at some point. He was in Allen Co., IN and then migrated to St. Joseph Co., IN. I believe that he was married at least two times, but I only have information about his last wife, Catherine RHINEHART SCHLEMMER/SCHLIMMER (b. ca. 1820; d. 5 June 1897). He died prior to 1880.
I believe he had a son Benjamin MITCHEL with his first wife (Benjamin is listed with the blended family .
With Catherine RHINEHART SCHLEMMER MITCHEL he has at least two children: Christena MITCHEL SCHLEMMER (she married a George SCHLEMMER)
George MITCHEL (he married Margaret ZIMMER 25 MAR 1883)
I would appreciate information about Jacob MICHEL/MITHCEL including Birthdate & parents, siblings, marriage dates & places, and any children he may have had with a first wife. I would also like to know when he immigrated to the U.S. Any information would be helpful.
